Hugo H. Ottolenghi has served as a professor and instructor in the FIU CARTA Department of Communication + Journalism since 2005 and the advisor of FIU PRSSA since 2019. Professor Ottolenghi is an educator for students in the Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication and Global Strategic Communications programs. He developed the course, COM 3714: Fundamentals of Written and Visual Communication; co-developed the master’s degree program in business journalism; and is the advisor of BOLD, FIU’s student-led, faculty-directed integrated communications agency. Outside of FIU, Professor Ottolenghi has been a board member of the Greater Fort Lauderdale chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and committee member of the PRSA Miami chapter since 2019. He serves as a senior consultant to two public relations firms, judge for Simon Rockower Awards, and professional development leader for the American Jewish Press Association. Raquel C. Batista
Professional Advisor & President Emeritus
Raquel C. Batista is a two-time FIU alumna. She earned a bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication; a certificate in Professional and Public Writing; a master's degree in Mass Communication - Global Strategic Communications; and a certificate in Conflict Resolution and Consensus Building. Raquel has more than eight years of extracurricular and professional experience in a variety of industries and entities, including primary education, retail, hospitality and tourism, higher education, technology, nonprofits, startups, and corporations. She advises the entire FIU PRSSA Leadership Team to ensure the stability of the chapter, while helping members achieve their academic and career goals.
